The food was top-notch, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We had a cozy Japanese-style room with a great view of the river. Plan for a relaxing escape and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Don’t miss the shuttle service, it runs smoothly even during snowstorms!

One thing that threw us off was the food selection. It was very traditional, and some dishes included ingredients I wasn’t a fan of, like mushrooms. Communication around the food could be better, especially for us non-Japanese speakers.

I loved soaking in the open-air onsen with views of the snowy river valley-it felt like a scene straight out of a postcard! The Japanese-style room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and had the coziest futons that wrapped me in warmth as the snow fell outside. Plus, the meals were a delicious feast of traditional Japanese cuisine, perfectly catered to my dietary needs while making each bite a tasty discovery!

Our stay at Takaragawa Onsen Ousenkaku was truly unforgettable. The outdoor onsen offered breathtaking views of the river, especially as the snow fell gently around us. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable. The food was simply superb, a beautiful introduction to traditional Japanese cuisine, with plenty of variety to choose from.

The lack of assistance with luggage was frustrating. Arriving late, we felt rushed straight into dinner without a chance to freshen up. The common areas felt cold and uninviting, with harsh fluorescent lighting that ruined the ambiance.

The hot springs were absolutely stunning and it felt like we were in a

fairy tale surrounded by nature. The staff was warm and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed, including delicious meals. However, the futons were a bit too firm for our taste, affecting our sleep quality.
